The Subaru Ascent is a mid-size SUV that released in 2019, built on the Subaru Global Architecture (SGA) platform. It succeeded the late Subaru Tribeca, which was discontinued in 2014.

Its first year, the crossover was offered in base, Premium, Limited, and Touring trims, and it still is today, albeit with an Onyx Edition added, which joined the lineup in 2021. The model seated seven to eight in as many as three rows and featured a turbocharged 2.4-liter, flat-four BOXER engine capable of 260 horsepower. It was paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive was standard. You could also get everything from roof rails, EyeSight driver-assist tech, and 18-inch wheels to push-button ignition, LED lighting, and fog lights as options.

For 2021, features ranged even more widely. The list of them included tri-zone automatic climate control, LED headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and second-row sunshades, plus 8-inch STARLINK infotainment with Wi-Fi, alloy wheels, and 19 cup holders.
