The Subaru BRZ is a sports car that was jointly developed by Subaru and Toyota, and which debuted in 2013. More specifically, it was a coupe based on latter's early AE86 model, and one similar to what became the Toyota 86. The model name's acronym stood for "BOXER engine, rear-wheel drive, and zenith."
Its first year, the two-door, two-seater came in Premium and Limited trims, both incorporating 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter, flat four-cylinder engines with standard six-speed manual transmissions and rear-wheel drive. A six-speed automatic transmission was optional. Features that year ranged from a Torsen limited-slip differential and heated, leather-bolstered seats with Alcantara inserts to dual-zone automatic climate control, fog lights, keyless ignition, a rear spoiler, and more.
In 2020, the car came in Limited and tS trims, and the feature list was broader, including alloy wheels, a steering wheel, shift knob and parking brake handle wrapped in leather, and Brembo brakes, among other options. You could even get an STI-tuned suspension with Sachs shocks, STI coil springs, and STI-tuned traction/stability control.
